Drain Sewer

This drain sewer was in an alley way that connected to a smaller street. This clip was in the same alley way that I had recorded the dog in a later recording blog. I was growing weary of the same old sounds of cars driving by. Then I spotted a man running a hose out of his basement. I followed the stream of water to a drain sewer. The water was trickling down in a water fall like fashion. Lowering the microphones deeper into the sewer the sound became more clear. The sound of water droplets hitting cold concrete and rustic steel became very distinguished. Every so often cars rumble by from behind me making this natural sound into busy city ambiance.

Door Creaking

I find this post to be my most attractive post of all. Although it is short it is very vivid. I was sitting down and drinking tea trying to think of interesting sounds in the city. Then someone opened the screen door to the tea shop. The creak was almost ancient sounding. I has its loud moments, and its silent moments. As the creak pulled apart I waited for more people to enter the shop. As they did, I crept closer and closer to the door. Then when I got close enough to get a detailed sound I moved on to my next recording.

Draw Bridge

I find this to be my most interesting recording. However, I do not find this to be my most attractive recording. The intriguing factor in this clip is the fact that the bells move in offset rhythms. This is a draw bridge that I am near. A crowd of traffic waits behind me. You can hear their idling engines. I find my self trying to find a pattern in between these abrupt "dings", but I get lost. As soon as the draw bridge goes down the impatient traffic begins to move behind me. I begin to walk across the bridge. Those low metal sounds are the bridge actually dipping as the traffic flows by.

Dog Barking

This is me walking down a back alley that connects Brady with a smaller street. I heard a dog from far away. As I walked more near the sound became more and more saturated. The wave of the dogs vocals became more broad. Then as I walked away the bark slowly faded. This recording is mixed with hints of leaves bustling away.

Clattering Vent

I was standing in front a bar on 1216 Brady street with my arms straight in the air trying to capture the sound of the clattering. It was a nice change from the normal sounds of traffic, which you can still hear in the back ground. It really stuck out like a sore thumb in the middle of the daily grind. In a world of stop and go traffic a simple rattle of metal and air caught my attention.
